According to the Council Rules and Regulations, notices of meetings, agendas and minutes of Council meetings shall be distributed to Council members electronically and made available on the University's website.

The Council Rules and Regulations were approved at Executive of Council on September 25, 2019.

Meeting of Council

At its meeting on December 1, 2023, Council passed a motion to postpone continued deliberation on the resolution before that body related to the conflict in Gaza.  A meeting has been scheduled for this purpose to take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Administration Humanities Building Fifth Floor Boardroom, AH 527 and via Zoom, as follows:

1:30 p.m. – Council registration opens (all Council members and guests are required to sign in)
2:00 p.m. – Call to order

This meeting of Council has been set in order to consider only this topic.  The agenda, including all related materials, will be provided to members at least 5 days prior to the meeting.

Meeting Modality, Quorum, and Voting:

As per Section 2.2.4 of the Council Rules and Regulations:

Quorum for any meeting of Council shall be set at 100 Council members … Members of Council must be present, in person or online through a video conferencing platform, to vote on any matters being considered by Council at that meeting. Members present online must have their cameras turned on and appear on screen. Proxy voting is not permitted.

A Zoom link will be sent to Council members with the agenda.

Council Membership

Membership is defined in Section 76 of the University of Regina Act. The University Secretary maintains a list of members; if you wish to determine whether or not you are a member of Council, you will find the list here.

If your name is not on the list and you believe it should be, or if you believe there is an error in the list, you must contact by Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Following that date, names will not be added or removed from the list.
