Thank you for joining us for Health Data for All of Us: Our Health Data Journey, HDRN Canada's fourth annual public forum.

Recordings of all forum sessions are now available on our YouTube channel. We invite you to watch, revisit and share them with your networks.

The graphic recordings, created live during the forum by Laura Hanek, from Drawing Change, are also available on our website. Download them today!

This year's forum was a sold-out success, bringing together researchers, community organizations, members of the public and policymakers for thoughtful discussions about the many stages of the health data journey. Through presentations spanning the full spectrum of this journey—from data collection and management, through access and use, and ending with analysis and evidence-informed decision-making, participants explored how responsible health data practices can contribute to better health outcomes for people and communities across Canada.

Thank you for helping make this year's event such a success. We hope you enjoy the recordings and continue the conversation with your colleagues and communities.

Tri-Agency Guide on Financial Administration (TAGFA) update now live- includes new Buy Canadian Policy Guidance
Dear colleagues, We’re writing to inform you that the Government of Canada has introduced a Buy Canadian Policy, which encourages federal departments and agencies to prioritize Canadian suppliers and Canadian made goods and services wherever possible. As part of this governmentwide initiative, NSERC and SSHRC, along with CIHR, have incorporated new guidance related to this policy in a recent update of the Tri-agency Guide on Financial Administration (TAGFA). For the research community, this means that when Canadian-made materials, equipment or services are available, cost-effective and suitable, grant holders will be expected to choose them. We also recognize that many specialized research tools, materials and instruments are not manufactured in Canada. The policy includes appropriate exceptions in cases where Canadian suppliers do not exist or cannot meet research needs. This update reflects the agencies’ shared commitment to responsible stewardship of public funds and to supporting strong, resilient Canadian supply chains, while ensuring that researchers continue to have access to the tools they need for world-class research. You can read more about what the Government of Canada’s Buy Canadian Policy means for how grant funds are used at the link to the TAGFA above. For questions about how the policy applies to NSERC and SSHRC-funded research, please direct your inquiries to the NSERC/SSHRC Financial Monitoring team at: usegrantfunds@nserc-crsng.gc.ca.
