Meet the UofR Discrete Math Research Group!
The Discrete Math Research Group at the University of Regina is a collaborative group of discrete mathematicians working to solve open problems creatively on campus. With over 15 years of history, the group is designed, not as a seminar series, but as a working group to allow discrete math lovers a chance to discuss and to learn new ideas in a friendly environment.
Overseen by Dr. Shaun Fallat, Dr. Allen Herman, and Dr. Karen Meagher, the research group is composed of current students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars such as Dr. Himanshu Gupta (PIMS postdoc), Dr. Seyed Ahmad Mojallal (postdoc), and Dr. Shahla Nasserasr (Rochester Institute of Technology), but all are welcome to join!
Their most recent research project, The \(q\)-Analogue of Zero Forcing for Certain Families of Graphs, was published in the journal, Discrete Applied Mathematics, in 2024!
Anyone looking to join the group or propose interesting research topics should contact Dr. Shaun Fallat or Dr. Karen Meagher.
