Green, Gold, Go! Welcome Week Is Here

To kick off the fall semester, the University of Regina and U of R Students Association (URSA) are hosting a number of events as part of Welcome Week.

Kicking off Welcome Weekend is student Move-In Day on Aug. 28. The weekend also includes a number of activities to help new students get familiar with their new neighbours and life on campus.

"We know the first week trying to find your classes can be a little bit stressful and overwhelming," says Shelby Adams, First Year Experience Coordinator, Student Success Centre. "So, Welcome Weekend is great social activity to mix with other students and just have some fun before school starts to get really intense."

Some of the various welcome weekend activities include a move-in day BBQ followed by a Green vs. Gold Rams game on Friday and a movie night at Moonlight Cinema on Sunday. These are only a few of the fun activities lined up throughout the weekend, with the full list of activities available on our Welcome Week posters below.

The fun continues into the first week of classes with Welcome Week activities happening every day starting August 31, kicking off with New Student Orientation.

Welcome Week is a chance to get to know campus and explore what the U of R has to offer.

"It not only gets students interacting with other students but also with the different departments and different areas around campus." says Adams.

With different activities happening constantly, there are plenty of opportunities for students to participate in any of the various Welcome Week events, whether they're waiting for their next class or just hanging out on campus.
