World Bicycle Day 2025

Happy World Bicycle Day!

Celebrated every year on June 3rd, this day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 to spread awareness about the affordability, reliability, and positive impact of bicycles on our health and environment. World Bicycle Day aims to foster sustainable development by encouraging use of a bicycle.

The University of Regina makes cycling easy and accessible with 20 bike racks on the main campus, and Indoor Bike Cage access for only $5/month! A bike repair station is located at the College West Building for quick fixes and maintenance. We also have four bike racks at Innovation Place and two at the College Avenue Campus. Use the U of R Bike Map to find your nearest rack and plan your ride!

The Commuter Challenge from June 1-7 was a friendly competition aimed at reducing emissions and encouraging active and sustainable transportation like walking, biking, carpooling, or public transit. Bike Regina provided a bike valet downtown throughout the challenge to encourage biking to work. Keep an eye out for their secure bike valet services at events in the city. If you are interested in having a bike valet at your next event, contact info@bikeregina.org!
