COVID-19 and Seasonal Respiratory Illness Information

Thank you for your continued commitment to protecting our campus community and ensuring we all have a healthy and safe environment in which to learn, teach, and work.

Do your part to maintain a healthy campus:

  • Stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccinations as you become eligible.
  • Get your seasonal influenza vaccine.
  • Wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds or make use of one of the hand sanitizer stations on our campuses.
  • Stay home when feeling ill.

Vaccination clinics

The University is planning to hold periodic vaccination clinics for students, faculty, and staff. Watch for details.

Masks

Masks continue to be welcomed on campus, especially in areas such as classrooms or meeting rooms, where you may be in close contact with others. Masks are available free at various locations.

Illness

  • Students: If you need to miss class or an exam because you are sick, contact your instructor(s). Learn more about applying for deferral of term work and/or final exam in the Undergraduate Calendar.
  • Employees: If you need to take time away from work because you are sick, please contact your supervisor to make arrangements.

Campus Air Quality

Early in the pandemic, the University made a number of improvements to its ventilation systems to increase filtration levels. Recently, the U of R was recognized by the National Air Filtration Association with the Clean Air Award for the improvements.
