Professional Leadership Certificate Requirements 

To complete the Centre for Continuing Education Professional Leadership Certificate, you will complete 7 courses with 5 required courses in the areas of coaching and mentoring; creating effective work groups; interpersonal communication; negotiation and conflict resolution. 2 elective courses can be taken in the areas of authentic leadership; leading and motivating employees; diversity, navigating indigenous business relationships; leading change; transformational leadership; and developing a personal leadership plan. 

All courses are offered in person over 2 full-days or remote over 3 half-days.

Certificate Requirements

Courses (7)

Courses are offered remote or in person.

Remote courses are delivered as three half-day sessions in one week. In-person courses at the College Avenue Campus are usually two consecutive full days.

The Professional Managment Certificate can be completed in as little as four months, or you can take up to three years, part-time.

Penelope (Penny) Popp is an accomplished Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, instructor, and leader. She has been navigating the complexities of delivering results in both the private and public sectors for over 20 years and in 2021 started her own consultancy firm. She has directed complex, multi-million-dollar projects and achieved success by entrusting her teams and forming partnerships with stakeholders.

Penny has her MBA from the University of Regina and is a certified practitioner of EQ-i 2.0, EQ-i 360 and MBTI assessments, as well as a Certified Leadership Coach, and active member of the Project Management Institute.

With her down to earth style and ability to tackle difficult issues, she both empowers individuals and ensures the oversight of organizations as complex systems.

She is passionate about mentoring others through sharing her knowledge and expertise and helping them gain the tools required to lead in an ever-changing environment.

If you don't already have an account, our Student Services team will create an account for you. Login information will be e-mailed to you before the course starts. Please make sure you can login. If you experience any issues logging in, please contact Student Services.

Directions, Parking and More for In-Person Courses

Location

In-person courses are located in the College Building on the College Avenue Campus at 2155 College Avenue.

Parking

Paid parking is available in the parking lots located on the south side of the College Building. Parking is $2/hour. You can pay to park using the pay stations located in the parking lot and in the main entrance of the College Building or by downloading the PayByPhone app or visiting paybyphone.com. The following information is required to set up an account:

  • Mobile phone number
  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • License plate of vehicle(s)

Refreshments

At our in-person courses, we provide the essentials you need to have a productive learning experience. We provide:

  • Lunch, unless otherwise specified
  • A selection of coffee, tea and beverages 
  • Snacks
  • Water refill stations

Please enter any dietary requirements when you register online.

Withdrawal, Transfer and Refund Policy
Students who withdraw more than 10 business days prior to the course will receive a full refund minus $30 administration fee. If a student registers 10 business days or less prior to the course, they are eligible for a transfer credit only.
Cancellations and Closures

The University of Regina and the Centre for Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel courses or programs due to insufficient registration or other unforeseen events. If this occurs, participants will be given every opportunity to transfer into another course or refunds will be issued. Decisions regarding withdrawal and/or refunds may be appealed to the Dean, Centre for Continuing Education.  

The University is closed on all statutory holidays and between December 24 and January 1.
