Current/Returning U of R Students are those who were previously accepted to the University of Regina or are currently enrolled and wish to transfer to a different faculty.

Application Information
If you have previously been accepted to the University of Regina, or are currently a U of R student interested in transferring to a different faculty, you will apply for re-admission or transfer.
Re-admission is required when you:
• Have not registered in the past three semesters and want to register in the same faculty you last attended
• Would like to return after being required to discontinue
Internal faculty transfer is required when you:
• Would like to transfer to another faculty at the University of Regina
• Would like to change your registration status (U of R, Campion, First Nations University of Canada or Luther)
• Would like to transfer to another faculty after you were required to discontinue your studies in one faculty
If you attended another post-secondary institution, you must arrange for an official transcript to be sent to the Admissions Office directly from all institutions attended, if you have not already done so.
If you are returning after being required to discontinue your studies, a letter of petition must be submitted with your application form. For more information, visit the petitioning for admission page.
If you are applying for a faculty transfer, you must meet the requirements for the new faculty.
Post-Secondary Admission Requirements
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW):
Admission to the BSW is competitive, and not all applicants are selected, even if they meet the minimum academic entrance requirements. Applicants to the BSW must have a minimum 70% Admissions Grade Point Average on the most recent 30 credit hours. Current U of R students must also have a minimum UGPA of 60%. There is also an essay component, which will be forwarded to a panel in the Faculty of Social Work for review and selection. Applications for the BSW are only accepted in the Fall term, and if applicants meet academic requirements, but are not selected, they will be admitted to the Social Work Qualifying category in the Faculty of Social Work. Applications are accepted during Winter and Spring/Summer terms, but admission for these terms will only be considered for the Social Work Qualifying category.
Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW):
Applicants without the required 24 credit hours of required post-secondary courses will start the program as an Indigenous Social Work (INSW) Qualifying student. Applicants must have a minimum 70% Admissions Grade Point Average on the most recent 30 credit hours. When students have completed the 24 credit hour requirements in the INSW Qualifying program, they may pick up their application package either at the Indigenous Social Work program office of FNUniv Saskatoon Campus or Student Success Services of FNUniv Northern Campus and Regina Campus. A cover letter, resume, three reference letters, a statement on aspirations in ISW, and up-to-date criminal record and vulnerable sector checks are required to be submitted with the application. Admission to the BISW is competitive, and not all applicants are selected, even if they meet the minimum academic entrance requirements.
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) After-Degree:
The BSW After-Degree is a 2-year program for applicants that hold a 3-or 4-year Canadian Accredited Social Science or Humanities degree, with a minimum graduating GPA of 70%. Admission to the BSW is competitive, and not all applicants are selected, even if they meet the minimum academic entrance requirements.
Bachelor of Social Work Bilingual Option
Admission to the BSW Bilingual Option is competitive, and not all applicants are selected, even if they meet the minimum academic entrance requirements. Applicants must have a minimum 70% Admissions Grade Point Average on the most recent 30 credit hours. Applicants must present proof of English and French proficiency through ELP requirements and/or the written test through La Cité. If a student has graduated from a Fransaskois high school or from a French immersion program, the French proof of proficiency will have been met. French Language Proficiency requirement:
- Successful completion of Français Fransaskois A30 or B30 or Français immersion 30 with a minimum grade of 70%, or
- Completion of the La Cité online placement test and obtain the FRN level 201 or

We recommend that students apply at least three months in advance of their intended start date.
