Short Bio
Dr. Rowe-McCulloch's research focuses on mass violence and the history of the Holocaust in Central and Eastern Europe. She is currently working on a book, based on her dissertation, which looks at how Soviet citizens experienced violence carried out by the German military occupiers during World War II, focusing on the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. She is also working on a project about the concentration camp Sachsenhausen on the outskirts of Berlin, which was used by the Nazis to hold their enemies, and then repurposed by occupying Soviet forces in 1945 to detain Germans.
