5 Days for the Homeless Charity Event

The Business Students Society will be participating in the “5 Days for the Homeless” campaign for the fifth year, from March 9-16. This is a national charity campaign taking place at countless universities across Canada. Five students from the University of Regina will be living on campus homeless for 5 days to educate students about homelessness in Regina and to raise funds for Carmichael Outreach. The students will be collecting monetary donations, clothes, and non-perishable food donations.

The 5 students participating in "5 Days" this year are:

Lynn Barber from the Faculty of Business Administration
Greg Duck from the Faculty of Business Administration (and incoming VP Marketing for the BSS)
Liam McKinnon from the Faculty of Science
Christina Miles from the Faculty of Education
Brooke Patterson from the Faculty of Business Administration/Arts (and URSU Executive)

The campaign organizers have a number of fundraising events and activities planned for the week including:

Press Conference to Kick Off the Campaign Glass Atrium by the Riddell Centre
Monday, March 10
8:00 pm
Benefit Concert featuring The Dead South, Herb and the Humans, Laska The Owl
- tickets are $5.00 at the door

Tuesday, March 11
5:00 - 9:00 pm

Steak Night Creekside Pub & Brewery
- tickets are $20.00

Wednesday, March 12  
8:00 pm

Date Night Auction The Owl
Thursday, March 13
11:30 am - 2:00 pm
