All of Dr. Watson's research revolves around understanding why consumers make suboptimal decisions and helping them to make healthier and more sustainable choices. Most currently, she is studying how individual differences and perceptions influence consumer spending and water consumption. Previous contexts have included depression treatment, obesity, fuel efficient vehicle purchasing, unsafe driving, and smoking cessation.
