Study in Korea in July and Earn U of R credit

Ulsan International Program (UIP) - Korean Culture/History/Business 

The University of Regina has been invited to select 2 students to participate in an academic and cultural program at the University of Ulsan in South Korea in July 2019. This invitation is extended to a select few students from a select few universities every year. The Faculty of Business Administration and the University of Regina are extremely happy to be able to invite students to apply to participate in this extraordinary program. This year we have the opportunity to send a maximum of 2 students to the University of Ulsan to participate in the Ulsan International Program (UIP) – undergraduate students from any faculty are invited to submit applications. While in the UIP program you will:

    • Learn the Korean language *Visit Korean companies, businesses and factories
    • Study Korean poetry *Try traditional dance
    • Study Korean philosophy *Learn about traditional instruments, music and costumes
    • Take a field trip to Seoul *Study Korean religion
    • Try Korean Taekwondo *Experience life with a host Korean family
    • Stay in a temple *Learn about the Korean economy

Cost for this program is the regular cost of tuition for one UofR 400-level Business course. Credit earned for this program is BUS 408AB (3 credit hours). (Participants in this program will pay $500US for accommodations during the UIP program).

Students will also be responsible the cost of their own meals and travel expenses; however, breakfast will be provided Mon to Sat. Students will be required to book and pay for their own flights from Regina to Pusan or Ulsan, South Korea. From North America you will find it is likely more convenient to fly into Pusan.

REQUIREMENTS

    • students must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours prior to application for the program
    • students must have a minimum GPA of 70% at time of application (averages between 68 and 70 maybe considered, space permitting)
    • students must be in good standing at the UofR -- both academically and financially (no exceptions)
    • students must have room for the course to fit into their degree program.
    • students must be returning to UofR for at least one semester (full or part time) after the program.
