Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Marie Sanderson. I am from Lac La Ronge but lived in Prince Albert for my High School Career.

What are you studying?

I am currently studying Psychology and taking some pre-med courses.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I see myself possibly in medical school or graduate school continuing with my goal for higher education.

What makes you successful academically?

The support I get from my parents and scholarship providers. I wouldn’t be where I am now without them. Also, studying hard and never forgetting why I am here.

What is/was your summer job? How did it help you with your educational goals?

I worked for SaskTel in Prince Albert. It was good pay and I got this job because they are one of my scholarship providers.

What would be your message to those following in your footsteps?

Never forget the hard work you put in to get here. It’s that hard work and determination that will help you continue on in your education. Keep an open mind and know that knowledge and perseverance along with realistic goals, will get you wherever you wish to go.
