Voice

In Her Studio:

Lisa Welder teaches voice with the Conservatory. Lessons with Lisa cost $57 per hour of instruction. She is not accepting students at this time. Lisa will teach students ages 10 and up, and will teach any level of student. In Lisa’s studio, students are not required to work towards exams, and are encouraged to participate in recitals and Music Festival. She teaches classical musical theatre, contemporary musical theatre, pop, rock, and indie music. Lisa requires students to supply their own books (or to use musicnotes.com for music), and she will discuss her practice expectations with each student. Lisa is good at establishing safety and being welcoming. For Lisa, it’s important to establish strong vocal technique with her students.

Biography:

In the spring of 2004, Lisa completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Regina. Since that time she has been a private instructor at the Conservatory. As a vocal teacher, one of Ms. Welder’s strengths is her ability to adapt her teaching to suit a variety of student learners. Also, she is able to cover a wide range of musical styles. These factors have played a key role in the success of her studio. As a performer, her interest in all types of music is displayed through her participation with auditioned choirs, solo recitals, church music, and charity events. In addition to her private teaching, Lisa is a full time high school teacher.
