Piano

Learn. Grow. Create.

For Group Classes in piano for youth (ages 3-9) with no private lesson component, see our Music for Young Children classes.

Suzuki Piano (ages 4+)

Suzuki Piano works on the principle that children can learn music the same way they learned to speak: through experience, listening, and imitation. Suzuki Piano involves both parent and child in the learning and practicing of piano. Children can start as early as age 4 and classes include both a group and one-on-one component. Go to our Private Lesson Plus section for more information on Suzuki Piano.

Music for Young Children - My Choice (ages 16+)

Music for Young Children (MYC) is a music-learning system integrates keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight reading, music theory, and composition to develop a firm, fundamental understanding of music. Typically designed for children, there are also options for older students, too. Our MYC program is led by Private Lesson instructor Megan Fries.

For all MYC classes a last month's deposit plus materials are due at registration, with scheduled payments starting the first day of the first month of class.

  • Fall Term (Sep start): classes are 1hr long, $80/mnth for 10 months + (non-refundable) materials.

If you have previous piano playing experience, Private Lessons could be a better fit than MYC, as you can learn at your own pace. Please contact the Program Coordinator if you have questions about this program.

My Choice (ages 16+)

My Choice levels of MYC® are for older students and adults interested in learning piano and theory. The significant difference with My Choice is not the curriculum, but the structure of the class, since students are older, they are able to learn on their own, with the teacher, still in a group situation.
