
Digital Research Skills: Advanced Searching for Science and Engineering Graduate Students

This session will focus on resource selection and using a variety of search techniques (Boolean, truncation, phrase searching, etc.) to search for different types of scientific information used in STEM disciplines. Participants will learn the various functions of Web of Science and practice executing their own advanced searches. This session will also cover identifying specialized resources to search for patents, standards, material properties, discipline specific textbooks and reference materials. An emphasis will be placed on evaluating sources of information.
