FGSR - Graduate Student Travel Award

Description:

Graduate Student Travel Awards are funded through the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and are intended to provide financial assistance to fully-qualified graduate students to attend conferences/events to present papers, posters or other creative works related to their research.

Value: up to $750
Eligibility:
  • The student must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Regina, in good standing, and be registered at the time that the conference/event is held;
  • The student must be presenting a paper, poster, or other creative work;
  • The conference/event must be relevant to the student's program;
  • Students may not receive this funding more than once at the Master's level or more than twice at the Ph.D. level

Applications:

Students must submit:

  • proof that a paper/poster, etc. has been accepted for presentation at a conference/festival/competition (proof of acceptance must be submitted at least 1 month prior to the event);
  • A one page abstract of the paper/poster being presented;
  • Anticipated detailed budget - economy air fares, hotel, food, transportation, etc
  • A brief email to grad.funding@uregina.ca from your department's Graduate Coordinator, indicating department/faculty support of this travel

Proof of participation must be submitted electronically before payment will be disbursed. Scan copies of hotel receipts, air fare, food etc. and submit to grad.funding@uregina.ca  Do not submit originals.  FULL documentation must be recieved within 6 weeks of the last day of the event.

March 1 deadline for events scheduled from April 1 to July 31;  July 1 deadline for events scheduled from August 1 - November 30;  November 1 deadline for events scheduled from December 1 to March 31.
