Your Email Account is changing

When is my email changing?

  • Your University of Regina email has moved to MS Outlook as of May 3, 2024.
  • If you retired, then implementation is May 6, 2024, at 4:30 PM .
  • You'll be able to access your email anywhere at https://www.outlook.com or install the app on a mobile device or a computer.

What do I need to do? No action is required yet.

  • Your login will be your username@uregina.ca, instead of just your username, with the same password you currently use.
  • This login will provide online access to Microsoft Office 365.
  • If you require full installation of MS Office, your faculty administrator may have a system available at the U of R for your use, or can provide options for having a fully licensed version of MS Office if required.

FAQs

How will I be able to access the new MS Outlook email?
Will my username still be the same?
  • Yes, but you will need to sign in with username@uregina.ca
  • Just your username alone will no longer be sufficient.
Will my password still be the same?
  • Yes, your existing uregina account password will not change.
What if I have the email App on my cell phone?
  • If you have your @uregina.ca email setup on a mobile device, you will need to install the MS Outlook app and sign in.
What if I have my @uregina.ca email forwarded to another email address?
  • If you set up a rule in GroupWise to forward your email elsewhere, it will no longer be in place.
  • After your account has been converted, you will a need to access your @uregina.ca email via https://www.outlook.com or install the MS Outlook App and sign-in.
  • If you need to forward your @uregina.ca email to another address, there will be a webpage created for this purpose.
  • Contact IT Support if you require assistance.
What if I don't have GroupWise but I still get you U of R emails in another email account?
  • All U of R email will go to your new Outlook account.
  • If you have your @uregina.ca email forwarded to another email address, or if you read your UofR emails in another program (software), you need to login to Outlook (http://www.outlook.com) to view your emails.
  • Contact IT Support if you require assistance.
Will I retain access to GroupWise after the transition to Outlook?
  • You will be able to view emails in GroupWise, but will not be able to send or receive any emails in this account after the transition date.
  • GroupWise will no longer be available as of June 1, 2024.
What will be migrated to Outlook from GroupWise?
  • At a minimum, emails, contacts, calendar items, and tasklist will be migrated.
  • We are confirming whether frequent contacts, categories, private message settings, etc. can be migrated.
Do my contact lists transfer from GroupWise?
Yes, your contact lists will move from GroupWise to Outlook.
What M365 Applications will I have access to and do I access them?
  • This login will provide online access to Microsoft Office 365.
  • Office includes, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams for online use only.
  • If you require full installation of MS Office, your faculty administrator may have a system available at the U of R for your use, or can provide options for having a fully licensed version of MS Office if required.
