Non-cinematic Experience in Recent Romanian Filmmaking
Dr. Doru Pop, Associate Professor, Department of Cinematography and Media, Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj
The presentation will discuss new Romanian films experiences and new stylistics. These innovative ways of expression, which could be called a non-cinematic cinema, do not take place on screen, but outside the field of vision. The lecture will focus on recent films made by Romanian directors like Corneliu Porumboiu (Când se lasă seara peste București sau Metabolism (2013), Al doilea joc (2014); Radu Jude (Inimi cicatrizate 2015 and Țara moartă 2016) and Cristi Puiu (Sieranevada 2016).
