Location: University Theatre, Riddell Centre

Spring Awakening is a rock musical, based on the 1891 German play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind, originally banned for exposing the trials and tribulations of the price of growing up. The play was originally dedicated to all parents and teachers. Set in late 19th-century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers navigating their sexuality, anxieties, and pressure from their parents, their school, and society. From lack of communication and understanding, they are forced to deal with the tragic consequences. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, four Drama Desk Awards, a Grammy and many others, this show is not to be missed!

The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.

Spring Awakening contains strong language and mature themes and actions pertaining to situations such as abuse, suicide, consensual sexual activity, masturbation, violence, and abortion.

The production will run approximately 2 ½ hours with one 15 minute intermission.

Latercomers are only admitted at the discretion of the ushers and seated on the balcony during the intermission or a blackout between scenes.
