Launch NURIP 2023: Nursing Undergraduate Internship Program

Now is the perfect time to plan for a successful career in nursing research. The NURIP program offers you an opportunity to participate in deeply engaging and authentic research experiences working alongside Faculty of Nursing researchers. For students who choose to excel, this summer experience can translate into additional professional opportunities to attend scientific meetings and present their research to local, or even national audiences. Plus, the opportunity to be mentored by an accomplished nurse researcher cannot be overestimated.

The NURIP program hosts professional development sessions and workshops to build research capacity. Topics may include advanced literature searching, online surveys, using SPSS for quantitative data analysis and grant writing. Students work in a supportive research environment with other NURIP interns.

At the end of the program, students will be able to utilize the knowledge learnt over the summer as they finish their SCBScN program and will be better positioned to pursue an academic Masters or PhD degree in nursing if they wish to do so.

Eligibility:

  • Completion of CNUR 209 (students in year 2, 3 & 4 are welcome to apply);
  • In good academic standing;
  • Current SCBScN student;

Program Details:

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (minimum 20 hours a week);
  • Program runs from May to July;
  • Weekly check-ins and presentations and;
  • NURIP students present on internship experience in July.
