Water Rangers

Water Rangers is an organization that provides easy-to-use tools and equipment for communities to perform their own water quality monitoring and contribute to protecting their local water bodies. There are two community-based water monitoring programs in Saskatchewan: the recreational program and the “Cow Kit” program. The recreational program has community members testing their local lakes, whereas the Cow Kit program is specifically designed for farmers and ranchers that want to maintain healthy water bodies for their livestock. From 2020-2024, there have been:
● 1,626 observations recorded
● 393 monitoring locations created
● 78 lakes monitored
● 80+ volunteers involved
This summer, F.A.S.T. has been going out to monitor around 25 sites each month for the Cow Kit program. Check out some pictures from the field!
