Research interests

Research interests: Dr. Eremondi researches the theory of programming languages, focusing on on dependently typed programming languages, which allow programmers to mathematically specify how their code should be have and prove that it meets that specification. His current work is on tools for making these languages easier to use, including gradual dependent types, improved semantics for pattern matching, ordinal notations for termination proofs, and diagnosis and repair heuristics for compiler error messages.

Research interests

The primary research of Dr. Orland Hoeber is at the intersection of interactive information retrieval and information visualization. He has an active research team working on the design, development, and study of visual and interactive software to support exploration, analysis, reasoning, and discovery in a broad range of information-centric domains including digital library search, mobile search, social media analysis, and sport analytics.
Dr. Hoeber was a Program Co-Chair for the 2020 ACM SIGIR Conference on Human Information Interaction and Retrieval, the top academic conference at the intersection of information retrieval and human-computer interaction. His recent research focuses on the study of visual analytics approaches from the perspective of how they support information seeking behaviour and exploratory search processes.

Research interests

The primary research of Dr. Shakil M. Khan is at the intersection of two sub-topics of artificial intelligence (AI), knowledge representation and reasoning, and autonomous agents and multi-agent systems. He studies the logical specification of agents' mental states and rational behaviour, and formal models of deliberation and reasoning within the multi-agent systems paradigm. Khan's principal topics of research include action, change, and causality, common-sense reasoning, reasoning about knowledge, beliefs, and other mental attitudes, belief change, goal reasoning, preferences, agent theories and models, agent programming languages, agent communication, temporal, epistemic, and strategic reasoning, and multi-agent planning. He is also interested in applications of AI, in particular in software engineering.

Dr. Md. Sami Uddin’s research falls under the broad area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI); primarily, he focuses on users’ rapid development of expertise with computer interfaces. My research interest broadly lies in the areas of computer and communication networks. Specifically, my research focuses on addressing resource allocation challenges in emerging networks, including 5G Mobile Networks, Elastic Optical Networks, Cloud Infrastructures, Data Centers, Software-defined Networks (SDN), and Internet-of-Things (IoT). I aim to leverage optimization techniques, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to solve exciting networking problems.
