2025 Workshop on Matrices and Operators

15 January 2025

The 2025 Workshop on Matrices and Operators (MAO) will take place at the University of Regina from August 19-21, 2025. This long-standing international workshop aims to promote collaborative research among researchers with varied interests in matrix theory, operator theory & algebra, and quantum information theory. Beginning at the University of Hong Kong in 2007, this workshop is held annually with the purpose to promote research and collaboration amongst researchers in these areas globally and to enhance the collective growth and development of related research communities. Participants of this event are encouraged to present their latest findings and discoveries while sharing their research experiences and current research problems within a collaborative and dynamic environment. Students are especially welcome to register for this conference and present their current research!

One of the local organizers, Dr. Shaun Fallat, provided some comments on the history of the conference and its greater impact:

“This workshop series grew from early discussions by a small group of matrix and operator researchers into an annual informal gathering meant to exchange ideas and current research trends. Initial iterations of this conference took place in China while the last two editions have taken place in North America. This conference series has been a driver for engaging colleagues and sparking research directions in many areas of matrix theory and operator theory around the world!”

More information about the conference including the history of the conference and the list of invited speakers can be found on the conference website: https://sites.google.com/view/matrices-and-operators-2025/home. Registration for MAO 2025 opens on February 1, 2025, so be sure to mark your calendars!
