Registration

Once students receive academic advising, they will be able to register themselves in courses through UR Self-Service. Please see this video tutorial that shows how to register for classes. The Visual Schedule Builder tool and course descriptions are also helpful in aiding students plan their course schedule.

We recommend that students follow the sequencing pattern noted below.

Please check SW 390 Spring/Summer course information sheet

Registering for Classes

Registration Dates

Students must check their 'time ticket' each semester to find out when they are eligible to begin registering for courses and to see if there are any holds on their account. All schedules are subject to change.

Students can find their time-ticket and possible holds by doing the following:

  • log in to UR Self Service
  • click Student Services
  • click Registration
  • click Check Registration Status.

Note, distance students (residing outside of Regina or Saskatoon) are eligible to request the 'off-campus time-ticket' each term by e-mailing special.registration@uregina.ca.

Registration Holds

There are two types of holds which may appear on a student's account: academic and financial.  Students whose accounts have holds preventing registration are encouraged to contact:

  • Academic Hold: The Faculty of Social Work
  • Financial Hold: Financial Services (306) 585.4123
  • Mature Admit Hold: Book an advising appointment at the same time as your registration time ticket

Class Schedule

The class schedule is available online and should be explored prior to registration. Students should also review course descriptions to ensure they have the required prerequisites prior to registration. Students wishing to request permission to enroll courses that are restricted, full or other, may do so by obtaining the necessary approval and submitting a signed Registration Permit Override form to SW.StudentServices@uregina.ca.

Off-campus courses (outside of Regina and Saskatoon) are offered throughout the province in cooperation with the Centre for Continuing Education and the regional colleges. Off-campus students should contact their local regional college for social work course information if they are interested in social work courses offered in their area.
