Registration and Withdrawal

Once you are a University of Regina student you can register for your classes through UR Self-Service.

How to search for classes

Log into UR Self-Service and complete the following steps:

  1. Click on Student Services
  2. Click on Registration
  3. Click on Search for Classes
  4. Choose the Term
  5. Search for courses by subject, and narrow down your search by course number, title, instructor, day or time
  6. Click on Class Search
  7. Click on the Course Reference Number (CRN) to find more information
    • Click on the Course Title
      • Availability in the class
      • Restrictions on the class
    • Click on View Catalog Entry
      • Course Description
      • Prerequisites
    • The course CRN will be needed to register in a class

How to register in a class

  1. Log into UR Self-Service
  2. Click on Registration at the main Student Services menu
  3. Click on Check Your Registration Status
    You can view your Time Ticket, Holds, Academic Standing… and more!
    If you are ready to register and know your CRN’s, then…
  4. Go back to the Registration menu and click on Add/Drop/Search for Classes
  5. Select a Term
  6. Scroll down to Add Class Worksheet
  7. Enter your CRN’s in the boxes, starting from the left
  8. Click on Submit Changes
  9. Continue to register for classes until all of your selected courses appear in the Current Schedule section
  10. Registration Waitlists

Once enrolment for a class has reached its capacity, the waitlist will be activated.

Registration Errors

If you recieve an error when trying to register to a course, it could be for multiple reasons. Visit Registration Errors for information on what to do and the types of errors you may get.

Special Students
Special Students including Visting, Common Visiting, and Auditing students are not able to self-register and must be registered by the Registrar's Office. Please fill out the appropriate form (Printable forms) and submit it to registration.office@uregina.ca or distance.registration@ureginca.ca to be registered.
Senior students, over the age of 65, register normally as either a credit or audit student. For more information on our Senior Tuition Waiver please see our Senior Tuition Waiver FAQ.

How to withdraw from a class

  1. Log into UR Self-Service
  2. Click on Registration at the main Student Services menu
  3. Click on Check Your Registration Status
    You can view your Time Ticket, Holds, Academic Standing… and more!
    If you are ready to register and know your CRN’s, then…
  4. Go back to the Registration menu and click on Add/Drop/Search for Classes
  5. Select a Term
  6. Scroll down to Current Schedule
  7. Click on the drop down arrow and choose the available option to drop/withdraw
  8. Click on Submit Changes
  9. Refund dates and withdrawal deadlines

How to view your schedule

  1. Log into UR Self-Service
  2. Scroll to the top and click on Student Services
  3. Click on Registration
  4. Click on Detailed Class Schedule

Class sections requiring special approval

There are some class sections that require special approval for the faculty. These may include:

  • Internships
  • Practicums
  • Work-Terms
  • Challenge Examinations
  • Supplemental Examinations
  • High School (Dual Credit) Sections
  • Off-campus courses where registration begins in June
  • Certain Media, Art, and Performance courses
  • CRNs with a Special Approval code

These types of courses are not available for viewing or registration in UR Self-Service.

You can view these courses by selecting Class Sections Requiring Staff Registration from the left-hand menu above under Course Schedules. Select a Term and then search for the specific class.
