Zoom Tutoring

To ensure that you are ready for your session, please do the following steps PRIOR to your appointment. For first time zoom users, it is a good idea to leave yourself ample time to setup the account and test it to ensure you understand how it works. For more help on installing Zoom and setting up the App, see this Video Tutorial

Once the tutor has access to your paper, they will share their screen with you, and take you through your paper. Your appointment will only be a half hour, so please make sure you join your meeting on time.

Note: Students are expected to participate in the Zoom session and discuss their papers with the tutors. Tutors are *not* copy editors - they will show you how to correct any mistakes in your paper, but will not fix them for you. Tutors also cannot help with translation services.

Steps for setting up Zoom:
1. Visit https://zoom.us/ and sign up for a free account (Click ’Sign up, it’s free!’ in the top right corner).
2. Once you have signed up and verified your email address, download the Zoom desktop client (for both Mac and PC) by clicking here and choosing “Zoom Client For Meeting”.
In order to join a Zoom meeting, you will need the desktop client. Because the tutor will ask that you share your paper with them using the Zoom chat function, you cannot use your mobile phone for this. You must have access to a laptop or desktop computer.
When it is time for your meeting:
1. Open your desktop/laptop Zoom app and sign in.
2. Select “Join” and enter the Zoom Meeting ID: 787 149 716
3. If there is an appointment ahead of yours, please wait in the waiting room until the tutor lets you into the video chat.
4. Troubles connecting??  Please call 306-585-4076
