This workshop will help students understand what plagiarism is, give strategies for avoiding it, and offer advice on how to complete your university assignments with integrity.
Surviving English 100: Critical Reading and Writing/Writing Essays about Literature
This workshop will be focused on helping students be successful in English 100. Topics will include strategies for being successful in an online course, a discussion of English 100 course requirements and objectives, and some strategies for writing a successful essay for English 100.
Essay Writing:
This workshop takes students through the steps to turn an essay prompt into an essay: focusing your ideas, answering the question, drafting and some simple steps to revise your work.
Research Basics: Understanding Kinds of Sources:
This workshop will take students through the kinds of sources used in university, strategies for using those sources carefully, and methods for establishing whether or not sources chosen fit properly into academic assignments.
Revising your Paper: Finishing Touches:
This workshop will help students develop strategies for revising, editing, and proofreading their writing assignments. We'll discuss tools to aid in revision, timelines, and tips and tricks for getting the most out of the time you have to revise.
Formatting Basics: APA & MLA:
This workshop will guide students through the basics of APA,and MLA formatting. We'll talk about the differences in styles, ways to get started with a reference list, and reasons why including them is so important.
