Mitacs Globalinks Research Internship Program
What is the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship?
The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a competitive program for international undergraduate students from around the world. From May to October of each year, top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship at the University of Regina under the supervision of a faculty member.
Funded by Mitacs, students will receive support towards their travel, accommodations, and research activities, among other things.
More information about the program can be found here.
How does the program work?
From start to end, the process includes many steps, but the key points are these:
- Mitacs makes a call for project proposal to Canadian universities each spring
- Faculty members submit project proposals to Mitacs
- Mitacs reviews the proposals and then makes a call for students to apply for internship spots on those proposals
- Students are matched with projects
- The students arrive at their host institutions to begin their 12-week internships in the spring/summer
