Title: Organizational Resilience: Responding to Catastrophes
 
Abstract:
The content of the presentation will address how organizations can face unforeseen catastrophes, and the possibility to grow in the aftermath of a disaster. The following topics will be covered:
  • The differences between organizations that have survived catastrophes and those that have not
  • The process of dealing with catastrophes: anticipation, coping, and adaption
  • The stories of Small and Medium enterprises that emerged from catastrophes
Bio:
Director of the Research Center for Women in Senior Management and Human Resources professor at Ipade Business School in Mexico. She is a Social Science doctoral candidate at Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada. Her experience of more than 20 years has been mostly as a Human Resources practitioner, working for 100 Fortune Companies like Nestle and Citigroup, receiving awards as Great Place to Work, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Diversity and Inclusion.

Her research is focused on organizational disaster resilience and sustainability, and her article published on Harvard Business Review in February, 2020 was selected to be part of the Insights’ book collection on Climate Change published last September.
