MSc in Organization Studies Admission Requirements

The Levene MSc program starts once each year, in September. Applications are considered on an ongoing basis, but to ensure your application can be processed in time for your desired start year, prospective students are encouraged to submit completed applications by March 1.

IMPORTANT: In advance of applying, prospective students *must* have a faculty member who has agreed to supervise their research. Applications without a confirmed faculty advisor will not be processed. It is the prospective student’s responsibility to find a suitable advisor prior to applying to the program.   

Applicants must meet the entrance requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and additional requirements:

  1. Applicants are normally required to have completed a four-year undergraduate degree with an acceptable grade point average equivalent to Canadian 80%.
    • Sealed and official transcripts from all former post-secondary institutions attended by the applicant sent directly to FGSR by your former institution(s). Envelopes must bear an official institutional stamp across the seal. Transcripts in any language other than English or French must be accompanied by a certified literal translation.

      MyCreds for participating institutions:

      The University of Regina receives official transcripts issued through MyCreds. You can check here (https://mycreds.ca/members/member-directory/) to see if your institution is part of the network. When you share your official transcript in MyCreds please choose the University of Regina from the list of available institutions.

      Starting October 2, 2022, students with international credentials applying to the Faculty of Business Administration programs MUST provide all post-secondary transcripts and degree certificates through the WES ICAP course by course evaluationPlease see instructions.
  2. A minimum GMAT score of 600 or a combined verbal and quantitative GRE score of 315 is normally required.
  3. Applicants are normally required to have successfully completed (with a minimum grade of 70%) the following undergraduate courses (or their equivalents) within five years of applying: BUS 260 (Introduction to Organizational Behavior) or PSYC 220 (Social Psychology), STAT 200 or STAT 160 (Introductory Statistics), and an upper year advanced statistics and/or research methods course (e.g., PSYC 405, BUS 413, STAT 354, SOC 404, etc.).
  4. Applicants must submit a Letter of Interest where they must specify a member of faculty who has agreed to work with them during their program.
  5. Two (2) official reference letters are to be submitted and are considered official when:
    • Received from secure email link sent from the reference listed in your application
    • Received in an envelope that is sealed and bears the referee's signature across the seal of the envelope
    • Sent to Grad.Docs@uregina.ca from the referees' verifiable email address

    The two letters of reference are to be from persons (ie. academics, employers) who can critically assess the applicant's ability to do research and advanced courses, and who cannot be a closely associated person or another current graduate student. 

  6. International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if their language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. (score cannot be older than 2 years):

    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): 70
    • CanTEST: 4.5 with No Band below 4.0
    • IELTS (Academic Version): 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band
    • MELAB: 85
    • PTE Academic:59
    • TOEFL Paper-based: 580/ Internet-based (DI code: 0830): 80 with a minimum of 20 in each of the four component
    • Institutional ITP TOEFL is not accepted
    • Duolingo: 120
