Program Name Change

Effective the Spring/Summer 2019 (201920) term, the Local Government Authority and the Advanced Local Government Authority Certificate programs will be re-named the Local Government Administration and Advanced Local Government Administration Certificate programs.

Program Content Change

Effective Fall 2019 (201930) term, students admitted and/or re-admitted to the Local Government Administration program will be required to take an additional course, LG 208 AA-ZZ, to complete the certificate program. All new students will now be required to complete the five required courses in order to graduate with the Local Government Administration Certificate. Students admitted to the Local Government Administration program prior to the Fall 2019 (201930) term will not be required to take the additional course, but are welcome to take it if they wish.

The Urban and Rural Boards of Examiners have made completion of parts or all of the Certificate in Local Government Administration program the educational requirement of certification for the administrator of a rural or an urban municipality.
