Openings at the Conservatory

Powwow Dancers Needed

We are looking for powwow dancers performing in a variety of styles to offer powwow workshops throughout the year from September to May. Each class and instructor obligation is for 4 week periods on Thursday nights from 5:30-6:30pm. Cost for participants is $10/workshop and all generations of learners will be attending. There are a total of 7 workshop slots available throughout the year. If you dance more than one style (e.g. women's fancy and jingle), you are welcome to apply to teach more than one session.

How to Apply

For all positions listed above, instructors will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check at their own expense before employment as per Conservatory policy with working with minors. Interviews will be conducted until the slots are filled. Please e-mail your resume and cover letter to the CPA Program Coordinator Erika Folnovic with "Powwow Dancer Application" in the subject line, please also a send a link to a video of you dancing if possible and as protocol allows.

Piano Instructor

The Conservatory is seeking an experienced piano teacher who holds a music degree or music diploma to join out teaching team on a contract basis. Expertise in teaching beginner students and availability to teach on Tuesday evenings and during the day on Saturdays will be considered an asset. Private instructors at the Conservatory act as independent contractors and teach lessons on behalf of the Conservatory on a weekly basis to students of all ages. Instructors tell the Conservatory when they are available to teach and the Conservatory works to fill the instructor's teaching time as much as possible.

Guitar Instructors Needed

The Conservatory is currently recruiting guitar instructors who are able to teach private lesson classical and contemporary guitar on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday evenings. An ability/willingness to teach electric guitar will be considered an asset. Private instructors at the Conservatory act as independent contractors and teach lessons on behalf of the Conservatory on a weekly basis to students of all ages. Instructors tell the Conservatory when they are available to teach and the Conservatory works to fill the instructor's teaching time as much as possible.
