Job Opportunities at the Conservatory

Openings at the Conservatory

We are always recruiting high quality instructors at the Conservatory. Specific teaching opportunities will be listed here and shared on our Facebook and Instagram pages as they are available. Please note that instructors at the Conservatory work as independent contractors and the Conservatory cannot guarantee the number of students an instructor can attract. If you are a qualified instructor interested in building a private teaching studio in Regina or starting a group performing arts program, please contact us to find out about current openings.

Other staff openings can be found on the University of Regina careers page.

Current Openings for Fall 2022:

  • Behind the Scenes Group Program Instructor - this technical theatre course is designed to work in conjunction with our youth theatre and musical theatre programs to help design costumes, props, set pieces, lighting, hair, and make-up for our twice a year musical and theatre productions. Interested instructors should have some prior experience in technical theatre roles.
  • Broadway Genius Group Program Instructors - this entry level musical theatre program puts the creation in the hands of the participants and kids get to write two short musicals each year to stage in our musical theatre showcases. Interested instructors should have some prior experience in staging musicals and working with kids.
  • Glee Group Program Instructor - this entry level musical theatre program puts on two productions a year from two scripted musical theatre productions. Interested instructors should have some prior experience in staging musicals and working with kids.
  • Prairie Kids Chorus Group Program Director - this choir for kids ages 5-14 has two sections: a group rehearsal that learns by rote for our youngest singers and a PLUS section that allows older kids in the choir a chance to learn more advanced pieces in parts and dive into music theory basics. The choir primarily sings in unison with some part singing. Interested instructors should have vocal training and knowledge of music theory. An accompanist is provided for every class.
  • Private Lesson Percussion Instructor - due to a retirement, this position would be taking over a percussion studio that already has a few students and provides the opportunity to build both a drum kit and orchestral percussion studio. Interested instructors should have percussion training through a performance certificate/degree or music education training. Preference will be given to instructors who can teach both drum kit and orchestral percussion but the role could be split between two instructors.

How to Apply:

All instructors will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sectors search at their own expense before receiving a contract with the Conservatory.
