I'm Accepted - What's next?
Congratulations. We are excited that you are joining the U of R. We really are. That is why we made this page. The Dean of Graduate Studies also has a welcome message for you.
1) The first step is to check to see if you are "Conditionally Accepted" or "Unconditionally Accepted". If you are conditionally accepted you still have some work to do before you can register for classes. Please follow the instructions in your letter.
2) If you are an international student, apply for your student visa and study permit as soon as possible. UR International is great for supporting international students with any questions you may have. They can help you with travel documents, visas, health insurance, and employment rules in Canada.
3) You will want to find a place to live. We have five residences on campus to choose from. This includes Graduate and Family housing options. There are also rental options close to campus. You can check out the websites Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, UsedRegina, or URSU Classified to see what is available.
4) Register for your classes, check to see when they start, and how much it will cost
5) Be sure to check your U of R email address. You can forward it to another account if you would like.
6) Check out our scholarships and awards. There is a competition each semester and the deadline is typically the end of September, January, and May.
7) Sign up for the U of R orientation. Some faculties have their own orientations so watch out for those as well.
8) Look at the supports and services available to graduate students.
9) Review our policies and procedures.
10) Why not learn about Regina and don't forget to get your Student ID when you arrive.
