There are online, on-demand and on-campus workshops for graduate students offered by many groups on campus.

Mitacs Workshops
Some of these workshops are through our partner Mitacs, who specializes in developing opportunities for graduate students.
Mitacs offers online and in-person workshops across Canada. As of U of R student you are able to sign up for online workshops and attend any in-person workshop offered across Canada (transportation not included). There will also be emails are sent out to all graduate students when a workshop is hosted at the U of R.
The Mitacs Training portal has been replaced by a new learning management system called EDGE (Education, Development, Growth and Engagement) by Mitacs Training.
EDGE is designed to enhance learner experience through courses and curriculum that are tailored to users.
By creating a profile and accessing EDGE you will be able to:
- Enroll in courses scheduled across Canada.
- Access Mitacs Training’s online course catalog.
- View and download transcripts following successful course completion.
- Check course registration status, download resources and tools, and more!
To get started on EDGE please follow the steps highlight below:
- Visit https://edge-reg.mitacs.ca/.
- You will be required to Create a new account! Please do not attempt to use existing login credentials, they will not work!
- Select your Learner Affiliation on the EDGE Registration Portal.
- Carefully select your current Mitacs Program Affiliation.
- If you are not a Mitacs Intern or program participant select General.
You have the option to select English or French as your language user interface (top right of EDGE page) when you set up your profile.
