Full Time / Part Time

Full-time

The following is considered full-time registration:

  • Registration in 6 credit hours or more in a semester
  • Registration in any JSGS internship (JSGS 850AA-ZZ)
  • Registration in Psychology internship classes (PSYC 876-879, PSYC 880AA, PSYC 880AB)
  • Registration in any Co-op Work Term course (CS 601, 602, ENGG 601, 602)
  • Registration in any work placement course (GRST 600, GBUS 801, 802, 803, MBA 801, 802, 803)
  • Registration in GRST 995AA for post program for students who have completed course and other program credit hour requirements, but who have not finished writing or defending their thesis
  • Registration in GRST 996AA, for students who have received approval for an extension
  • Registration in the last requirements of a graduate program (e.g. just have one course remaining); and who will otherwise be engaged in thesis research/writing

These students register in the required credit hours, but registration must be for a minimum of 3 credit hours. Students in this category must contact FGSR who will notify Financial Services to adjust their Income Tax (T2202) form.

Part-time

The following is considered part-time registration:

  • Registration in less than 6 credit hours in a semester
  • Registration in GRST 995AB for post-program students who have completed course and other program credit hour requirements, but who have not finished writing or defending their thesis and who are using university facilities
  • Registration in GRST 996AB, for students who have received approval for an extension
  • Registration in GRST 999 (nonresident maintenance) for students not using university facilities

Registration must be for a minimum of 3 credit hours for students who have credit hours remaining in their program.

Note: While the above outlines registration requirements that meet FGSR’s definitions of full-time and part-time registration, please note that the  National Student Loans Service Centre, the  Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loans Program, and the  Canada Revenue Agency may have different requirements for full-time and part-time registration.
