FGSR - Indigenous Graduate Scholarship - kaskihtamâsowak

Description:

The purpose of this award is to encourage and support Indigenous students in graduate studies in a diverse range of programs. Funding for this award is provided by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.  kaskihtamâsowak is a literal translation of "they earned it".

Area(s) of Study: Unrestricted
Value: $5,000 each - to be determined annually
Eligibility:
  • Indigenous students who are registered in a graduate program
  • Awards are available to both part-time and full-time students
  • Must be Fully-Qualified or a Qualifying student
  • Preference will be given to those students entering their first semester of graduate studies
  • Financial Need will be considered
  • A graduate student
    • may hold only one of these awards in any academic year (September to August)
    • is eligible for a maximum of two awards during the tenure of a given program (i.e. Master's or Doctoral)
  • Recipients must register in the semester for which the award applies
  • Grad Thrive Plus 800AA must be completed by the end of the first semester in which a student begins their program, in order to be eligible
