Gordon Wolfe Speaks: My Musical Path
A native of Nelson, BC, Gordon Wolfe joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as Associate Principal Trombone in 2001 and took over the role of Principal Trombone in 2006.
In addition to his work with the TSO, Gordon has kept very busy during the summer months as Principal Trombone of the Sun Valley Music Festival in Idaho. He has also performed as a guest with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. As an accomplished chamber musician, Gordon was also a founding member of the Central Park Brass, a privately funded brass quintet that performs free concerts in New York City’s Central Park. Education is a key focus for the group, regularly visiting the Union Settlements in Harlem to work with less privileged children.

The Lois and Thomas Glenn Visiting Artist in Music program at the University of Regina was endowed by Mrs. Muriel Glenn for the purpose of exposing students and faculty to the expertise of visiting artists, in support of a strong and well-rounded foundation for their professional practice. Each year since January 2008, for a period of two days, the program brings a distinguished and well-known performer or musical ensemble to the university. In addition to presenting a formal concert for university and high school students, faculty and the general public, for which no admission is charged, the renowned musician or ensemble works with students through one or more of workshops, masterclasses and coaching sessions.
