Title: Elasticsearch in the Context of Image Retrieval
Abstract: Social networking services support photo sharing that leads to the creation of huge amount of image content, which is difficult to search. People search images by text queries. Images have textual content associated with them, this information is not sufficient for performing similarity or category-based image search. In this presentation, an efficient and effective image retrieval approach is proposed which uses Elasticsearch, a search engine which is ca- pable of handling very large amount of data. A machine learning library DeepDetect can be used to get content from images and a content-based im- age retrieval library LIRE used to extract image features and store them into Elasticsearch. This extracted information can be used to build more effective image search interface.
