Welcome to the Faculty of Social Work

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality social work education, while teaching our students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed, and empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.

Programs

Our internationally recognized programs prepare students to enter the field of human service as Social Workers across Canada.  We offer programs leading to a Certificate in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work, a Bachelor of Social Work or Indigenous Social Work, and a Master of Social Work or Indigenous Social Work.  Graduates from our programs find careers in areas including addictions and family counselling, mental health and addictions, child welfare, social policy research and analysis, healthcare, criminal justice, community development, newcomer support, education, activism, advocacy and empowerment.

Study Locations

In the Faculty of Social Work we place a strong emphasis on student accessibility.  In addition to our Regina campus location, we offer social work courses at our Saskatoon and Prince Albert campuses, in the Yukon and Northwest Territories, and throughout rural regions of Saskatchewan.  We partner with the First Nations University of Canada, Yukon University, Aurora College, Regional Colleges throughout Saskatchewan, as well as the Flexible Learning Division of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina.

Research

With the Social Work Research Centre (SWRC), several of our faculty members are actively involved in relevant and interesting research on social justice issues with the aim of enhancing individual, community and societal development.

The Faculty of Social Work is committed to working with and responding to community needs, and to advancing Social Work as a profession.
