BA in Human Geography

Note: This program is not accepting new students. Please refer to the BA in Geography & Environmental Studies.

Human Geography analyses the way humans use and understand the world and addresses the spatial differentiation and organization of human activity and its interrelationships with the physical environment. It enables us to reflect upon some of the most important issues of contemporary society: cultural diversity, environmental degradation, ethnic and class conflicts, gender, globalization, poverty, racism, religious differences, overpopulation, transportation ills and urban sprawl, to name but a few. Doing so provides a critical interpretation of the human inhabitation of the earth and the differences between, and the similarities amongst, people and the places and landscapes they create.
