LINC - Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada

The University of Regina offers free English language classes.  At the U of R you can improve your English and integrate into Canadian culture while enjoying a university atmosphere. LINC is fully funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Class schedule

From January 2022, the LINC program at the University of Regina will offer flexible class schedules to meet students’ needs. We will provide two models of classes:

    1. Face-to-Face Model
    2. Fully Remote Model

Eligibility
You are eligible for the LINC program if you are:

  • A Permanent Resident of Canada or Protected Person
  • 18 years of age or older

Registration Procedures

Step 1: Take the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT)

You need to visit the Newcomer Orientation & Language Assessment - NOLA (formerly LARC) to take a CLBPT test.

     Assessment Centre is located at:

Step 2: Choose your LINC program

If you choose the LINC at the University of Regina as your langugage provider, please use the Registration link below:


After completing the Registration Survey of Form, please also email your document(s) below:
  • PR Card, or Landing Paper

Once receiving all your documents, we will contact you by phone and email to update your registration status.

Childcare Service:

*Childcare service is currently unavailable for the Spring 2023 semester.

U-Pass (Bus Pass):

Please note that you need to pay the U-Pass fee at the front desk in Riddell Centre (RC 221).
