The Confucius Institute at the University of Regina

    About us

The Confucius Institute is a joint initiative between the University of Regina, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Hunan University, in Changsha, Hunan, China. The establishment of the Confucius Institute in 2011 was based on the longstanding and growing relationship of intellectual and economic exchange between Canada and China.

The Institute is a non-academic unit offering programs that are exclusively non-credit in nature.  It fosters and facilitates intercultural interaction and engagement in ways that engender a broader understanding, greater opportunities, and rewarding partnerships between individuals, institutions, enterprises, and communities in Saskatchewan and China.

The Confucius Institute is located in the College West Corridor, close to a wide range of services and activities at the University of Regina.

The primary role of the Institute is to serve as a key platform to advance understanding and appreciation of Chinese language and culture by offering comprehensive non-credit language programs and implementing diverse cultural activities on campus and in local communities.
