“Playing with Truth” Playwrights Reading Series: Lucia Frangione
Mon., Oct. 29, 2018 8:00 p.m. - Mon., Oct. 29, 2018 10:00 p.m.
Location: Classroom Building 127
Now in its 26th year, the Regina Playwrights Reading Series brings together dramatic writers and theatre artists from Saskatchewan and across Canada to read from their previous work and their current work in progress. They talk about how and why they came to write and work in the theatre as well as new play development in Canada and the role of theatre in Canadian culture and beyond. In response to our theme for this year, Playing with Truth, our readers will also talk about the way in which they navigate the line between fact and fiction, and in many cases translate and transpose historical or current figures and events to the living and performative world of the theatre.
Lucia Frangione is an internationally produced and award-winning actor and playwright with over 30 scripts to her name. She was commissioned by Vertigo theatre to write an adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man. It world premiers this year in Calgary and at Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon.
