The University of Regina has a tradition of providing academic and professional development opportunities for international scholars that are mutually beneficial to the scholar, their home institution, and the University of Regina. The University of Regina has hosted over 400 visiting faculty and professionals from over 40 countries with appointments in all faculties across campus.
 
The UR International Global Mobility office supports Visiting Professors, Visiting Researchers, Visiting Staff and Professionals in using professional and academic resources available at the University of Regina for a period of productive professional development in their academic fields.

Future Participants

The purpose of the Faculty and Professional Mobility Program is to provide academic and professional development opportunities for international scholars that are mutually beneficial to the scholar, their home institution, and the University of Regina. The intent of the program is also to contribute to the University of Regina's international mission of empowering citizens, generating high-impact scholarship, and embracing Canada’s diversity through the sharing of knowledge, experience and passion. 

International faculty and professionals who meet the following criteria can apply to visit the University of Regina as visiting professors, visiting researchers/artists, or visiting staff and professionals:

Typically, all visitors are self-supported and visit for relatively short periods of time, usually no longer than a year.Visitors are not regular members of a department nor are they members of a faculty at the University of Regina.

Program Prices:

  • $400 (up to 1-month)
  • $600 (up to a 4-month term & term extensions)
  • $800 (for a 5- to 12-month term)

As of January 1, 2022, $300 of the above paid program fee is non-refundable

Services we Provide:

  • Pre-arrival assistance and advising
  • Immigration assistance for program and program extension
  • Formal Invitation Letter
  • Pre-departure assistance and advising
  • Local accommodation advice
  • U of R registration services: I.D. number/card, library registration, pre-arranged e-mail account
  • Saskatchewan services assistance: SK health card, banking information
  • Certification of Completion (unofficial document)
