About Us

The University of Regina Rowing Club is a co-ed student varsity club under the auspices of Recreation Services that provides competitive and non-competitive opportunities for students of the University of Regina interested in learning to row or continue their involvement in the sport.  All students are welcome regardless of previous experience, years of study, age and/or ability.

The University of Regina Rowing Club works cooperatively with Sask. Rowing and the Regina Rowing Club to promote and to encourage student engagement in the sport.  The University of Regina has sent a number of registered student athletes to compete on behalf of the University of Regina at numerous regatta’s including the CU’s (Canadian University Rowing Championship) that is held annually.

Although the primary focus of the club is rowing, there is an emphasis on developing successful student-athletes who give back to the university and broader communities through service and leadership.  Garett Mathiason is a perfect example of this model.  Garett was a former student rower who later became the Head Coach of the Regina Rowing Club and now serves as the Provincial Coach - South for the Saskatchewan Rowing Association.

If you are interested in becoming involved with the Rowing Club or would like further information, please email us at rowing@uregina.ca.
