The University of Regina has created the following Emergency Preparedness Information Sheets for Students.

Each sheet:

  • Lists the different emergencies that may occur on campus.
  • Explains how to prepare for each emergency before it occurs.
  • What to do if you are in an emergency.

Report Emergencies

No matter what the crisis, THINK before you ACT. Then act swiftly to minimize your exposure to danger.

Call 9-1-1 to report the emergency, then phone Campus Security at 306-585-4999.

Follow directions you may receive from:

  • First responders, including firefighters, police officers and ambulance personnel
  • Campus Security
  • Your building's emergency warden
  • Your professor or faculty advisor
  • Your residence advisor

Emergency Preparedness Information for Faculty and Staff

Report Emergencies

Call 9-1-1 first, then Campus Security at 306-585-4999 to report your emergency.

You should also call Campus Security because their staff are:

  • Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to your emergency.
  • Trained to respond to a variety of emergencies and can provide assistance quickly.
  • Can coordinate its response with emergency services by providing an agent to escort police, ambulance or fire personnel to your exact location, saving valuable time.
Stay Informed During Emergencies

Depending on the emergency, you may receive information or instructions using any or all of the methods listed below:

  • Updates to this Emergency Info website

  • From emergency responders (Campus Security, police, firefighters)

  • From your Dean, supervisor, emergency warden or other faculty member or staff

  • On URSU television screens located around campus

  • Through e-mails sent to your Groupwise account (Access your Groupwise e-mails from the internet.)

  • From automatic voicemail update sent to your office phone

  • By listening to news updates from local media outlets

Access GroupWise E-mail

The University will provide information and updates to you during an emergency through your GroupWise e-mail account.

Emergency Management Committee

The Emergency Management Committee is responsible for assisting the Director of Emergency Operations when during an emergency to achieve the objectives and priorities described in the University's Emergency Management Plan.
