How to Apply

Before you can take classes in the EAP Program, you must apply for admission. Here are the steps you need to take:

New Students

  1. If this is your first time applying to the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program, you must have completed an approved EAP Placement Exam within the last two (2) years. Find out more about the EAP Placement Exam and other approved exams or apply and register for the EAP Placement Exam.
  2. Select the terms you will be in the EAP Program and complete the online application.
  3. Pay for your tuition deposit and application fee.
  4. Wait to receive your Letter of Acceptance. You're now a U of R EAP student!

Undergraduate Students

If you are already an undergraduate student of the U of R, please complete the Undergraduate Student Application Form (668.2KB)PDF Icon and email a completed copy to esl@uregina.ca, or mail it to:

English as a Second Language Program
University of Regina
Wakpá Tower, Rm 114

Undergraduate students will require permission from their primary faculty and the ESL program to be registered in EAP courses. Admission to the EAP Academic Program does not constitute admission to degree programs at the University of Regina.

Returning EAP Students

If you are already a current student of the ESL EAP Program at the U of R you will automatically be registered for the next semester based on the results of your final marks. Any returning student registered in the program that has not attended class by the 100% tuition refund deadline will be automatically dropped and removed from their classes.

If Someone Else is Applying for You

If you have an agent, family member, friend or someone else applying on your behalf, you must complete and sign the Declaration of Third Party Authorization Form (58KB)PDF Icon, which gives that person your written permission to do so. You will be asked to include the completed form with your online application

Application Deadlines

Please note that the program dates follow the University of Regina's academic schedule.

We accept application throughout the year. However the priority deadline is the recommended deadline to ensure best service and opportunities for enrollment and other ESL services. Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are recommended to apply as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the program.
