Fadi Tannouri

Fadi has been teaching English at the university level for the past eight years. His ESL teaching career started in South Korea and includes time in Ontario, Canada and Iowa, USA. He is thrilled to have joined the U of R ESL Program, which serves quite a diverse international student population.

Fadi’s main language is English, but he grew up speaking Arabic in his household and learned Korean during his time in Asia. His previous experiences learning languages have made him sensitive to the challenges ESL students face on their journey towards English proficiency.

He enjoys all aspects of teaching English, particularly listening to and reading about his students' experiences and ideas, and giving feedback to help them improve. Every term, he looks forward to meeting a new group of students and learning more about both them and their life experiences. One of Fadi’s favourite pastimes is traveling around the world with his wife.
