On March 1, the University of Regina is returning to near-normal operations, including face-to-face courses, events, and activities on campus.

Are you a new student, or is this your first time taking classes on campus?

Here is a quick overview of what you can expect when you head to campus, including: food, fitness, student support and wellness, and other services available to you!

Dr. John Archer Library

The Dr. John Archer Library has returned to regular operations and has no capacity limits. It is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Services available include E-Proctored Exam and Group Study rooms available for booking, the Textbooks for All program (available for short-term loans), and computer access throughout the building.

Fitness Centre and URFit Classes

The Fitness Centre will continue to be open for regular hours – Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is also a variety of rec swim times throughout the week.

Are fitness classes more your thing? There are several URFit classes and URFit on Demand classes that are free for students to attend. You can register for the session or drop into classes, which include workouts such as yoga, Tae Kwon Do, Zumba, and boot camps.

If you want to grab a quick bite or meet up with a friend for coffee, the following locations will be open as of March 1: 

Culinary Station (Riddell Centre)
Monday to Friday: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Extreme Pita (College West)
Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Grill and Co. (Riddell Centre)
Monday to Friday: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Luther Cafeteria (Luther College)
Monday to Friday 7:30am – 6:30pm
Weekends and holidays: 12 noon – 6:30 p.m.

Momentum Café (10 Research Drive in Innovation Place)
Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 3 p.m.

On the Go Packaged Fresh Sandwiches and Salads (Riddell Centre)
Monday to Friday: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Subway (Lab Building)
Monday to Friday: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Tim Hortons (Riddell Centre)
Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Student Success Centre

Are you a new University of Regina student or is this your first time taking on-campus classes?

The Student Success Centre is here for you! The Centre has a variety of workshops throughout March and April to help you with note taking, time management, and writing tests. They also offer individual appointments for learning skills, writing tutoring and math and stats tutoring.

The Student Success Centre also has a campus tour scheduled for Thursday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m. If it’s your first time on campus or you just want to feel more confident finding your way around, you can sign up for the tour here. You might even get a few tips and tricks for getting the most out of your time at the University of Regina!

Note: to be eligible to be on campus, you must be fully vaccinated or have a self-administered rapid antigen test result from within the last 72 hours. Masking is required at all times when on campus. The Student Success team will be checking vaccine status before starting the tour. Student Wellness Centre and Vaccine Clinics

The on-campus Student Wellness Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3p.m. The Centre is fully staffed by Nurse Practitioners and offers urgent and non-urgent physical and wellness care to University of Regina students. You can visit their website for more information on booking an appointment.

There will also be on-campus vaccine clinics on Tuesday March 1, 8, 15, and 22. Pfizer, Moderna, and Influenza vaccines will be available, as well as boosters. Watch your U of R email and the U of R’s social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) for further details about the vaccine clinics.
